Birmingham Public Schools Online Check Registers

The Board of Trustees supports and promotes on-line transparency regarding the operations of the district. The national push to post check registers on-line is only a small part of financial transparency. While we move forward to publish the register, we are cognizant of the "not being able to see the forest for the trees" syndrome. We urge all users of this raw data to frame it in the context of the appropriate accounting, state regulatory, and federally mandated reports and financial statements. We feel that our financial statements and fund balance statements provide the clearest picture of our districts financial condition and operations.
